Our Beliefs

We believe in the Bible as the inerrant Word Of God, an understanding that Jesus Christ died for my sins and that he physically rose from the dead, that he will return one day, and that those who believe will be with Him for eternity.

We also believe the church was created by God as a place for living in community, spiritual growth, and service.

We invite all, whether brand new to church or seasoned in the church, to gather with our church family.  Want more detail?  Please read our Statement Of Faith below or contact one of our elders.

God

The Trinity: We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut 6:4, Gen 1:1, Matt 5:48, Matt 28:19, 2 Cor 13:14, John 1:1–3, John 10:30).

God the Father: We believe that God the Father, having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory (Ps 147:5, Isa 46:9–10, Rom 8:28–30, Eph 1:3–14, Rev 21:1–5).

God the Son: We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (John 1:1,14, Col 2:9, Matt 1:18–23, Luke 1:26–35).  He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures (1 Cor 15:3, Isa 53:4–6, Rom 5:8, 1 John 2:2).  Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate who will return to earth bodily in the Second Coming for His rule and reign in glory (Luke 24:36–43, Acts 1:9–11, Heb 1:3, Heb 4:14–16, 1 John 2:1, Rev 19:11–16).

God the Holy Spirit: We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to draw hearts to the Father, reveal Jesus, convict people of their sin, regenerate those who are then born again, and indwell, guide, instruct, continue to fill and overflow, and distribute spiritual gifts to His Church for the empowerment of believers for godly living and service for His glory (John 15:26, John 16:8–14, Titus 3:5, Eph 1:13–14, Rom 8:9–16, Gal 5:16–26, 1 Cor 12:4–11, Eph 5:18).

The Bible

We believe that God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors. As the Spirit-inspired Word of God, the Bible is inerrant, su icient, certain and infallible in the original writings, being the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged (2 Tim 3:16–17, 2 Pet 1:20–21, Ps 19:7–11, Heb 4:12, Isa 55:10–11).  Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises (Rom 15:4, James 1:22, Josh 1:8, Ps 119:105).

Humanity

We believe that mankind (male and female) were created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, spiritually lost and deserving of eternal wrath (Gen 1:26–27, Rom 3:23, Rom 5:12, Eph 2:1–3, John 3:36). Only through Christ’s finished work on the cross can personal forgiveness of sin, salvation and spiritual life be obtained (Rom 5:6–11, Acts 4:12, John 14:6, 1 John 5:11–12).

Salvation

We believe that the ordained substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for the penalty of sin and His subsequent Resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe (Isa 53:5–6, Rom 3:23–26, 2 Cor 5:21, 1 Pet 2:24, 1 Cor 15:1–4). Only such as receive Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Savior are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God (John 1:12–13, John 3:3–8, Titus 3:5–7, Rom 8:14–17).

The Church

The Universal Church: We believe that the true Universal Church is composed of all people who through saving faith in Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head (1 Cor 12:12–13, Eph 1:22–23, Col 1:18, Eph 4:4–6).

The Local Church: We believe the Bible teaches that the local expression of this Universal Church is found in committed local church communities who gather to worship Christ the Head weekly on the Lord’s Day. Those among the local church also often fellowship throughout the week to learn, serve, and grow in faith together. Christ the Head weekly on the Lord’s Day. We also believe every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own local body (Acts 2:42–47, Heb 10:24–25, 1 Cor 16:1–2, Rev 1:10, Titus 1:5).

Sacraments Of The Church

Two Sacraments: We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper are the only two sacraments to be observed by the Church during the present age as both memorials of the Gospel and sanctifying graces for the individuals and the local church partaking of them (Matt 28:19–20, 1 Cor 11:23–26, Acts 2:38–42).

Baptism: We believe that the biblical prescription of baptism is the immersion of the one who already has saving faith in Jesus Christ (believer’s baptism) into water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a sign and seal that outwardly expresses the inward reality of new life in Christ (Acts 8:36–39, Rom 6:3–4, Gal 3:27).

The. Lord’s Supper: Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is a spiritually sanctifying memorial of Christ and His redemptive death. For those who believe, it is also an expression of our fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ and with one another as a local body of believers (1 Cor 10:16 17, 1 Cor 11:23–29, Luke 22:19–20).

Christian Living

We believe that God's justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. The Holy Spirit is the active agent in our sanctification and seeks to produce his fruit in us as our minds are renewed and we are conformed to the image of Christ (Rom 6:1–14, Gal 5:22–25, Rom 12:1–2, 2 Cor 3:18). As we are led by the Spirit, we grow in the knowledge of the Lord, freely keeping his commandments and endeavoring to so live in the world that all people may see Jesus Christ through our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven (Rom 7:14–25, Matt 5:14–16, John 14:15, 1 Pet 2:11–12).

The Future

We believe in the personal and bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth in the culmination of His kingdom in the new heavens and new earth for eternity. At the coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, the resurrection of the body as well and its Final Judgment will commence for both the righteous and unrighteous, either unto eternal judgment or eternal salvation (Acts 1:10–11, Rev 20:11–15, John 5:28–29, 1 Thess 4:13–18, 2 Pet 3:10–13, Matt 25:31–46).
